Gerry Endorsed By Conservative GroupMomentum Building In Campaign For Insurance CommissionerFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ATLANTA — Gerry Purcell, candidate for Insurance Commissioner, received the endorsement of a coalition of conservative grassroots groups on Monday. The 912 Project Action Network released a limited slate of endorsements for statewide, congressional, and legislative races. “We are proud to endorse Gerry Purcell for Insurance Commissioner,” said 912 Project Chairwoman Tricia Pridemore. “He is a tireless advocate for free-market health care and is the most qualified candidate for Insurance Commissioner. We need new leadership in government at all levels, and Gerry’s zero-tolerance stance on lobbyist gifts is just the kind of leadership we need.” In addition to the endorsement, Purcell finished first in three straw polls held around Georgia over weekend. His victories in Pickens, Union, and Lanier counties bring his total number of straw poll victories to 30, 17 of which he won with 50% or more of the total vote. There are nine candidates in the Republican field for Insurance Commissioner. “We are honored and humbled to win these straw polls. We are converting our straw poll wins into a robust Get Out The Vote effort that includes door knocking and phone banking,” stated Purcell. Gerry Purcell is a life-long conservative and native of Toccoa, Georgia. A graduate of Truett-McConnell College and the Chaminade University of Honolulu, Gerry began his career as a military intelligence officer, earning several distinguished honors during his time in the Army. After a brief bout with cancer, Gerry transitioned to the private sector where he became nationally recognized as a free-market health care and insurance expert, saving millions for companies and local and state governments nationwide. Gerry and his wife Julianne currently reside in Alpharetta. Gerry launched his campaign for Insurance Commissioner in March 2009 with the intention of bringing new leadership and real, common-sense solutions to Georgia government.
