Georgia Right To Life Proudly Endorses Gerry Purcell as Georgia’s Next Insurance CommissionerFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Gerry Purcell, candidate for Insurance Commissioner, was recognized for his tireless advocacy for the sanctity of life with the endorsement of Georgia Right to Life. Purcell, an Army veteran, is a nationally known health care expert who has advised taxpayer plans and employers in numerous states on how to lower health care costs using free-market solutions without compromising on the quality of care. Purcell, who also serves as a volunteer pastor, said in response to the endorsement, “I absolutely believe that life begins at conception, that all life is precious, and that we must do everything in our power to protect the sanctity of life. How can we protect any segment of society if we are unwilling to protect the most innocent and vulnerable among us? Our actions are a reflection of our society and culture as a whole.” “The way we formulate policy and laws protecting life must reflect an uncompromising regard for the sanctity of life or all of society is at risk,” said Purcell. Dan Becker, President of Georgia Right to Life, stated, “Gerry is a leader who has the courage of his convictions. He is not one who just talks about life, but his family has done the hard work of showing up at rallies, providing financial support to the cause of life, and advocating a commitment to life from the pulpit to the town square. They are ardent defenders of the rights of the unborn. We need more leaders like Gerry who are strong conservatives, who will stop federal efforts to nationalize health care and use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions, and who will protect the rights of local medical providers who, as a matter of moral conscience, object to performing life-ending procedures.” Gerry Purcell is a life-long conservative and native of Toccoa, Georgia. A graduate of Truett-McConnell College and the Chaminade University of Honolulu, Gerry began his career as a military intelligence officer, earning several distinguished honors during his time in the Army. After a brief bout with cancer, Gerry transitioned to the private sector where he became nationally recognized as a free-market health care and insurance expert, saving millions for companies and local and state governments nationwide. Gerry and his wife Julianne currently reside in Alpharetta. Gerry launched his campaign for Insurance Commissioner in March 2009 with the intention of bringing new leadership and real, common-sense solutions to Georgia government.
