Another Resounding Set Of Wins For Team Purcell18 Straw Poll Victories, In Every Part of GeorgiaFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Gerry Purcell, Georgia’s next Insurance Commissioner, continues to win GOP straw polls with wide margins. Purcell dominated the competition with wins in Henry County on Thursday and Georgia’s 2nd, 9th, and 11th Congressional Districts on Saturday. In the combined 9th and 11th event, hosted in Gordon County, Purcell earned 248 votes (66%) to his nearest opponent’s 32 votes. In an eight-county event hosted in Hart County, Purcell dominated the 8 candidate field earning 72% of the vote. Said Purcell of the victories, “Our message of bringing free-market solutions to government is resonating with voters across the state, and our momentum is building. I’m proud and humbled that when voters hear our message, they support us with decisive victories.” This latest round of straw polls wins marks Purcell’s 18th straw poll victory, with some of the biggest margins coming in opponent’s home counties. “We entered this race with a plan and a vision to make Georgia the free-market health insurance model for the nation. With your support and your vote on July 20, that’s just what we’ll do. Georgia needs new and ethical conservative leadership, and together we can bring that fresh start to Georgia.” Gerry Purcell is a life-long conservative and native of Toccoa, Georgia. A graduate of Truett-McConnell College and the Chaminade University of Honolulu, Gerry began his career as a military intelligence officer, earning several distinguished honors during his time in the Army. After a brief bout with cancer, Gerry transitioned to the private sector where he became nationally recognized as a free-market health care and insurance expert, saving millions for companies and local and state governments nationwide. Gerry and his wife Julianne currently reside in Alpharetta. Gerry launched his campaign for Insurance Commissioner in March 2009 with the intention of bringing new leadership and real, common-sense solutions to Georgia government.
